Ingredients: 1 package Devil's food cake mix 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk 6 oz (¾ cup) caramel ice cream topping 3 Heath candy bars, chopped; or bag of toffee chips (in the baking aisle with chocolate chips) 1 (8 oz) container of Cool Whip

Directions: |
Directions:1. Bake cake according to directions for 9x13 pan. Cool for 5 minutes. 2. Take the end of a wooden spoon, wooden skewers or even a large phillips head screwdriver. Poke holes all over the top of the cake; don't go all the way to the bottom though. 3. Mix together condensed milk and caramel. Drizzle over top of warm cake. Use a spatula or icing spreader to gently spread the milk/caramel mixture over all of the holes. Keep going over it until all of the liquid has soaked into the cake. 4. Spread the chopped candy bars or toffee chips liberally over the top of the cake. Reserve about a ¼ cup to use as a garnish on the top of the cake. Cool cake completely. 5. When cake is cool top with Cool Whip and sprinkle with remaining candy bar pieces or toffee chips. **Keep in refrigerator. This is one of those recipes that is actually better when baked a day ahead of serving. |
