1 c. brown sugar
½ c. butter, melted
3 tsp. ground cinnamon, divided
3 tart apples, peeled and thinly sliced
½ c. dried cranberries or raisins
1 loaf Italian or French bread, cut into 1-inch slices
6 large eggs
1½ c. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine brown sugar, butter and one teaspoon cinnamon in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Add apples and cranberries; toss to coat well. Spread mixture evenly over bottom of dish. Arrange bread slices on top.

Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and remaining two teaspoons cinnamon until well-blended. Pour mixture over bread, soaking completely. Cover and refrigerate 4-24 hours.

Bake, covered with foil at 375º for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake five minutes. Remove from oven and let stand five minutes before serving warm.
