Notes: From Jeanne - I came up with this version when I was in hurry, but was very hungry. I was late getting up for work (this was when I worked overnights at Walmart), but wasn't in the mood for a sandwich since that was also my lunch. It's good, but not as good as the homemade version. At least in my opinion. LOL General Note - As we know there are several variations of Pizzaroni in the family, but yet no one really knows what the original recipe was since Grandma used "whatever was in the cupboard" at the time. Mother-Mine would call these incidents "Happy Accidents" since everyone loved it, and yet there wasn't a specific recipe at the time.
Over time we've all came up with own version (variation), but it has these things in common: Pasta, Tomato Soup/Sauce, Meat & Cheese; well in Aunt Cathy's case meatless since she's a vegetarian. When I came up with my version because I wanted it to be more pizza-like & have a different pasta. In other words, I wanted mine to be really different... as usual. (I was always the one that bucked tradition... imagine that. LOL)
So, I came up with this: Shell Pasta since they would hold the cheese better, Pizza Sauce cause that's what's actually on a pizza (not spaghetti sauce OR Tomato Soup), Pepperoni simply because I prefer it over sausage, and Mushrooms cos I like them on pizza. However there are 2 versions of it: Homemade and Quick & Easy.
