1 box elbow macaroni
1/2 C All-purpose flour
1 Tsp black pepper
1 tsp kosher salt
1/4 C butter, unsalted
16 oz grated cheddar cheese
2 C whole milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cook macaroni, drain and set aside. In medium sized pot, add butter and flour and whisk together over medium heat to form a roux. Cook until the flour reaches a light tan color. Next add warm whole milk to the roux 1/2 C at a time. Pour in a slow, steady stream, whisking constantly in order to avoid lumps. Repeat until all milk is added. Reduce heat to low and cook mixture until it is steam hot. Then stir in the cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir in noodles.
