1 c. butter, softened
1½ c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1½ c. flour
2½ c. regular or quick cooking rolled oats
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 large pkg (12oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350º. Lightly grease baking sheet and set aside.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt. Mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop dough about 1 level T. for each cookie, 1½” apart on a baking sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
