3 cups sugar
2 Tablespoons corn syrup
3 Tablespoons butter
3 (1-ounce) squares chocolate
1 cup nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup, butter and chocolate in heavy sauce pan. Cook until soft ball stage (238 degrees F.) Remove from heat then when almost cold, add vanilla and beat until fudge looses glossy appearance and is firm enough to hold it's shape when a little is dropped from spoon. Stir in nuts and pour into 9-inch baking pan. Cool completely.

For coconut fudge: Replace nuts for 2/3 cup coconut.
