8-9 quarts popped popcorn
2 C firmly packed brown sugar
1 C butter or margarine
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
½ C white syrup
½ tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Boil all ingredients except for popcorn and soda for 5 minutes. Mix well and stir constantly. Remove from heat. Add soda stirring quickly. Pour over popcorn and coat well. Put in large baking pan and bake at 250º for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Store in air tight container.

Original recipe came from Fern Gamel. I sure made this a lot for the kids, especially at Halloween.
(To pop popcorn I used ¼ C oil and ¾ C popcorn back in the day before air poppers.) E
