5 lb baking potatoes, peeled, cut into 1-inch chunks
5 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
2 cups chicken broth
½ cup butter or margarine, cut into chunks
1½ cup sour cream or plain yogurt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
½ to 1 cup half and half

Directions:
Directions:
Place potato chunks in slow cooker. Add garlic, chicken broth, and butter. Cover and cook on low for 7 hours or high for 4 hours.

When potatoes are tender, mash them until blended, but don't over mix. Add sour cream, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in half and half until potatoes are to desired creaminess. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
