"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
The one solid friend I had... she knew my inner thoughts and completely understood my outward expressions of feelings. K&K! That's what everybody called us. That was my girl, my best friend in the whole world, and she stood right beside me on my wedding day. The friendship we had was the best. We both were a mess, but you didn't see me without her or her without me. Unfortunately, she had her own struggles fighting Sickle Cell Anemia; which is a horrible disease that occurs in 1 out of every 365 African-American births. What a deadly disease! My bestie lost her fight and passed away on October 25, 2003. The disease took my best friend away from ME! WHY?
