˝ lb. mild Italian sausage without the casing
1˝ lb. ground beef, lean
1 handful fresh-chopped Italian parsley
3 cans chicken broth
3 carrots finely chopped
2 onions chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
˝ c. fresh basil, chopped
2 cans whole tomatoes or plum tomatoes
˝ glass red wine (2 - 3 oz.)
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
olive oil to cover bottom of pot
salt and pepper to taste
1 stick of butter or ˝ c. olive oil

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté onion, carrots and celery in butter until almost soft; add garlic and cook until fragrant. In separate pan, brown meat in olive oil, adding salt and pepper to taste. Add celery, carrots and onions to meat once browned. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce and whole tomatoes and stir until well mixed. Add parsley and basil. Stir in two cans chicken broth and wine. Cook on medium-low flame for three hours, stirring occasionally. Add broth as need. Add to your favorite cooked pasta and enjoy!

All vegetables may be chopped in food processor. Optional substitute for lean beef: 1 lb. ground beef and 1/2 lb. of ground veal
