1 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 package chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
2 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs.

Dissolve baking soda in 1 teaspoon of hot water and add to butter mixture. Add vanilla.

Sift salt and flour together. Add to butter mixture.

Stir in nuts and chips.

Drop by teaspoon full onto greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
