1-1/2 lbs lean beef, cut into 1" cubes
1 tbsp canola oil
4 c water
2 c beef stock
1 bouillon cube
2 cloves garlic smashed
1/2 c diced onions
1 bay leave
1/8 tsp pepper
1 heaping c of pearl barley

Heat cooker, add oil and brown beef. Add liquids and bring to a boil. Skim off fat Add remaining ingredients. Close cover securely. Place pressure regulator on vent pipe and cook 15 mins with pressure regulator rocking slowly. Let pressure drop of its own accord.
