1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup molasses
2 Tbsp. vinegar
5 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 Tbsp. ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream butter, sugar and salt. Stir in egg, molasses and vinegar. Beat well.

Sift together dry ingredients. Stir into molasses mixture.

Chill about 3 hours. Roll, on floured surface, to 1/8 inch thick. Cut ginger boys with cookie cutters and place on greased cookies sheets, about 1 inch apart. Bake in 375 degree oven about 6 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely and decorate as desired.

Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
