2 cups sugar (1 white and 1 brown)
1 cup butter
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon baking soda, mixed in sour cream
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter and sugars until light. Add eggs. Beat for about 2 minutes at medium speed. Add the sour cream and vanilla and mix well. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Add to the butter mixture and beat for another minute or until just combined.

Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes in a 375 degree oven or until the cookies spring back when lightly pressed in the centers.. Cool the cookies on cooling racks completely.

Spread a thin layer of creamy vanilla frosting on top. For holidays, tint the frosting with food coloring or sprinkle with tinted coconut, or place 1/2 a maraschino cherry on top.
