1 cup raisins
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 stick of butter
1 1/2 cup hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
3 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon water
1 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine raisins, sugar, butter, hot water, salt and spices in a large pan and bring to a slow boil for 3 minutes.

Add flour, baking soda, water and nuts.

Grease and flour a 17 x 11 x 3/4 inch jelly roll pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into bars when cooled.
