2 c. all purpose flour
½ c. cold butter, diced
1 c. sugar
½ tsp. salt
1 c. hot water
½ c. molasses
½ tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a food processor, combine flour, butter, sugar and salt until a fine crumb. Reserve ½ C. of crumb for topping. Mix together hot water and molasses and into it dissolve the baking soda. While the food processor is mixing, pour wet ingredients in slowly until just combined. Pour the thin batter into a well-greased 8x8” baking dish. Sprinkle the top with the reserved crumb mixture. Bake for 45 minutes. This is a moist cake.
