2 ½ Tbs cocoa
3 c. cold milk
4 to 5 Tbs flour
2 Tbs butter, softened
1 c. sugar
scant ½ tsp salt
5 eggs, separated, yolks slightly beaten

Directions:
Directions:
1. combine all dry ingredients, mix thoroughly; add milk and egg yolks gradually.

2. Add vanilla and butter. Mix well.

3. Cook over med high heat until thick stirring constantly. (mixture should be very thick) allow to cool.

4. Pour into a baked pie shell. Top with meringue made of egg whites with 3 Tbs sugar and a pinch of salt and a pinch of cream of tartar.

Beat egg whites until stiff; gradually add other ingred.

Bake pie at 350 until meringue is golden brown.
