10 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. of salt
1/2 stick of margarine
1 Tbsp. of lard
4 well beaten eggs
1 long yeast (3 packets)
1 cup of scalded milk
1 cup of warm water (more if needed)
1 pkg Anise seed or Sesame seeds

Mix:
Flour, cooled scalded milk, sugar, salt and shortening
Add to this:
well dissolved yeast and beaten eggs
Mix well until dough comes together (if using a mixer change from paddle to hook at this point)

Place dough in a greased large bowl, cover with a towel or blanket and place in a warm place until dough doubles in size (at least an hour)
Punch the dough down and divide into equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 20 to 22 inch rope.
Place 2 ropes on a parchment lined baking sheet. Loosely twist the ropes together, tuck the ends under. Cover with a towel and let rise until it doubles in size (30-40 minutes).

Preheat oven to 350º

Brush the top with egg yolk and seeds.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes on parchment paper
