"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
8 oz. egg noodles
1 lb. ground beef
Salt and pepper to taste
⅛ tsp. garlic powder or 2 garlic cloves
16 oz. tomato sauce
1 c. cottage cheese
1 c. sour cream
3 to 4 green onions, sliced thin
¾ c. cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions:
Directions:
Cook noodles as directed. Brown meat, add salt, pepper, garlic powder (or garlic cloves) and tomato sauce. Simmer five minutes. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, green onions and cooked noodles in a bowl. In a 2-quart casserole dish, alternate layers of meat sauce and noodle mixture, ending with meat sauce. I divide into two and have two layers of each. (Put a small amount of meat sauce mixture in bottom of casserole dish to start). Bake at 350º for 20 to 25 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake five more minutes or just until melted.
