4 apples
2 tsp lemon juice
3 cups water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 Corn Starch
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 Tbsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and slice the apples. Dice into small cubes.
Drizzle the lemon juice over the apple cubes.
In a small bowl whisk together water, brown sugar, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg. Then put into a cast iron skillet.
Bring mixture to a simmer and stir.
When at a simmer, turn up heat and bring to boil. Cook for one minute or until the sauce thickens.
Add the apples, stir to coat.
Lower the heat to medium. Cook until the apple cubes are tender, about ten minutes.
Add the butter to the skillet, stir until the butter is melted.
Cool the mixture until just warm (not hot).

Breana and I took a class where these apples were used as a filling for crepes. However this apple filling is also excellent to serve over vanilla ice cream for a perfect autumn sundae.
