One Bowl Cocoa Cake Recipe

1½ c cake flour
1¼ c sugar
½ c Drostes cocoa
1¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp salt
⅔ c Crisco
1 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs

Cocoa whipped cream frosting:
6T Drostes cocoa
2 c whipping cream
1 c sifted confectioners sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Sift together:
cake flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt
Add:
crisco, milk, vanilla and eggs

Mix all ingredients well. Pour the ingredients into 2 lightly greased 8-9" cake pans and bake or about 30 minutes. Check after 25 minutes. Cake is done when a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pan about 5 minutes and then turn out carefully on a rack.

The cakes may be wrapped in waxed paper for later use or they may be frozen.
This recipe makes about 30 miniature cupcaes. Fill cups ⅓ fulll and bake 25 minutes.

Cocoa whipped cream frosting:
Whip cream, add cocoa and confectioners sugar. Beat until stiff. Frost cake and refrigerate after frosting.
