¾ c granulated sugar
⅓ c sifted flour
3 Tblsp cornstarch
pinch of salt
1½ Tblsp butter
2 egg yolks
¾ c cold milk
3 c warm milk
1½ tsp vanilla

Baked 9" pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together sugar, flour, cornstarch, and salt.
Stir in butter.
Combine the egg yolks with the cold milk. Add to dry ingredients forming a smooth paste.
Add the warm milk slowly and cook until it is thick and smooth, stir constantly.
Cook about 5 minutes after it thickens. Add butter and when mixture is cool add vanilla.
Let filling stand at room temperature until cool. Sit it often to prevent skin from forming during cooling time.
