1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup milk
2-1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1-1/2 cups raisins

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF. In large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Mix wet ingredients and add to cream mixture, beat well. In medium bowl sift dry ingredients and add to cream mixture. Fold in raisins. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
