Dressing:
1 cup oil
½ cup sugar
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup vinegar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion, minced

Salad:
1 bag spinach
1 can sliced water chestnuts
Bean sprouts
Raw mushrooms, sliced
1 hard boiled egg, diced
Bacon bits

Directions:
Directions:
Clean spinach and place in bowl. Arrange water chestnuts on top of spinach. Next layer sliced mushrooms on top followed by the diced egg. Complete layering bacon bits and bean sprouts. Refrigerate. Combine dressing ingredients in a jar with lid and shake well. Pour dressing over salad just before serving.

This recipe is from Barb Kohler Hatcher’s mom. She served it for dinner one evening when I was visiting Barb during a college break. My dad liked the recipe so much it became a regular item on both the lunch and dinner menus at The Stouch.
