1 ½ sticks butter
1/4 cup molasses
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups sifted, all purpose flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter. Mix molasses, sugar, and eggs well. When butter is cooled add to molasses mixture and mix. Stir together dry ingredients and mix with molasses mixture. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Roll into small balls. Dip in sugar. Space 2" apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375º for 10 minutes.
