1 1/2 cups butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup molasses
4 cups flour
4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp salt
PUMPKIN DIP:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
2 cups canned pumpkin
2 cups icing sugar
3 tsp cinnamon
3 tsp ginger
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Add molasses; mix well. Combine next six ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix well. CHILL!
Shape into 1/2-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° until edges begin to brown, about 6 minutes. Cool 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack.
For dip, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add remaining ingredients. Beat well. Serve with cookies.
