2 quarts water
3 tsp ground ginger
1 T garlic powder or 4 cloves minced garlic
1/8 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 cup salt
2 to 4 cups of 1½ inch cubed halibut
2 tsp paprika
4 T melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Bring first 6 ingredients to a boil and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
Drop cubed halibut into water and turn off heat. Cover and let set for 30 minutes.
Once the pieces of halibut float, remove them from the water.
Mix the paprika and melted butter.
Place fish on a broiler pan. Brush cooked fish several times with the paprika/butter mixture.
Just prior to serving, place pan under broiler about 8 to 10 minutes.
Serve with more melted butter and and lemon wedges.
