1/2 cup warm water (110-120 degrees)
1 packet of rapid rise yeast
3/4 cup lukewarm milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
5 cups flour
1/2 cup shortening, softened
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Pour the milk over the sugar and salt in a bowl of a stand mixer Stir until dissolved. With a paddle attachment beat in 1 cup of flour, the shortening, eggs and yeast mixture. Switch out the paddle attachment for the dough hook. Add the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead in the mixing bowl for about 6-8 minutes. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk. Usually about an hour. Punch the dough down and form into 24 balls. Place the balls into two greased 9" tins. Cover and allow to rise till doubled, about 40 minutes. Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes or until done. Brush with melted butter and serve hot. Makes 24 rolls.
