1 C sorgum
½ C sugar
½ C lard
2 C flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 C boiling water
½ tsp salt
Spices optional Cinnamon, cloves, etc.
Nuts
Raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Put sorgum, sugar and lard in a bowl, add boiling water mix then add dry ingredients mix and pour into small pain 7x7 greased and floured. Bake 350º until done 15-20 minutes done when springs back when lightly touched in middle.

Mom would make this and we would eat it hot out of the oven with butter, no nuts or raisins maybe a little cinnamon but I don't remember. I have not made this since I was a child at home. Dad really liked this one!
