1 C. Powdered Sugar
1 C. Sugar
1 C. Crisco
1 C. Margarine
2 Eggs
1-1/2 T. Vanilla
4-1/2 C. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 tsp. Salt
3/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar

Frosting:
1/2 C. Butter Flavored Crisco
1 Box Powdered Sugar
1/3 C. Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
Add Food Coloring of your choice, if desired.

Preheat oven to 350º.
Mix powdered sugar, sugar, Crisco, margarine, eggs and vanilla together. Mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Chill dough for one hour. Roll dough out onto floured surface to desired thickness and use cookie cutter to cut desired shapes. Bake to the point where they start to brown. Remove from oven and after a minute or so place cookies onto a cooling rack and cool completely before adding frosting.

Frosting:
Blend butter flavored Crisco, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in small bowl at low speed till blended, then increase speed and mix to a smooth and creamy consistency. Add desired food coloring, a few drops at a time, to desired tint.

This will make two cups of frosting and will frost 3 to 4 dozen cookies.
