1 Beef Brisket or 1 chuck pot roast
Cut up vegetables (carrots, onion, celery) - optional

Sauce ingredients:
1 package of dry Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 bottle of Chili Sauce (found near the ketchup in the supermarket)

Directions:

Mix sauce ingredients together. Make a foil pack using heavy duty aluminum foil. Place a piece of parchment paper inside the foil pack. Place brisket or chuck roast on parchment. Cover with sauce. Add vegetables if desired. Close foil packet tightly and put in a roasting pan. Cook at 325º for about four hours (approximately an hour per pound). Serve with baked potatoes, noodles or carb of choice.

This recipe was given to me by a neighbor in Acton. Mike Fitz went there for a Seder dinner and he came back raving about it. In my recipe box, it’s on a card called Mrs. Malkin’s brisket. It’s absolutely wonderful, and the leftovers are even better. I use the chuck pot roast as I can get one close to four pounds and we can have glorious leftovers.
