2¼ cups vanilla wafers, crushed
¼ cup powdered sugar
⅓ cup butter
Melt butter and combine with powdered sugar and wafer crumbs. Press into a 9x13 pan. Chill until firm, about 45 minutes.

2 cups canned pumpkin
1 cup brown sugar
½ tsp. nutmeg (I don't use this.)
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ gal. vanilla ice cream.

Combine pumpkin, brown sugar, salt, and spices. Stir ice cream to soften and fold into pumpkin mixture. Spoon into crust and freeze firm.

This recipe originally came from Suzann Franz Rekeweg. She gave it to me at one of my bridal showers. She mentioned that it was a favorite recipe of Loren's.
