cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
cup butter, softened

Mix above ingredients very well. Spread out flat in greased 8x8 inch pan.
Bake 10 minutes at 350.
While baking, mix the following:

1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbl. flour
tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cups coconut

Directions:

Mix well and spread mixture over baked crust. Return to oven and bake for 20 minutes. Cut while hot.

This is an old recipe. My Grandma Bernadine Ehinger made these when I was little. Then Mom also started making them as I grew up. I've made them and now you can too. At least four generations of this cookie being made.
