1 - 8 oz. package softened cream cheese
1 - 15 oz. can chili ( hot or mild)
1 - 8 oz. bag shredded sharp cheddar cheese or shredded Mexican blend cheese

Opt: 1/4 -1/2 cup sour crème, 1/2 tsp cumin, 2 T green chilies

Preheat oven to 350º
Soften cream cheese and spread in 9 inch pie plate or quiche dish.
( If desired - add the optional items listed in ingredients to the cream cheese)
Spread chili over cream cheese mixture.

Sprinkle the top with cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted. Watch carefully so cheese doesn't burn or add just cheese after the mixture has baked 10 minutes. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.


Variation: Brown 1/2 # hot or mild sausage and drain. Add 15 oz. can chili or chili beans and 8 oz. Velveeta cubes. Bake in deep dish until cheese is melted or melt together in crockpot. Stir well and serve hot with sour cream and Tortilla chips.
