"Plain fresh bread, its crust shatteringly crisp. Sweet cold butter. There is magic in the way they come together in your mouth to make a single perfect bite."--Ruth Reichl

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
50 Saltine Crackers (approx.)
2 Sicks (1 C) Butter, cubed
1 C. Light Brown Sugar, packed
2 C. Chocolate Chips
1/2 to 1 C. Chopped Nuts or Sliced Almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°.
Line a large jellyroll pan with foil. Spray foil with a nonstick cooking spray. Line pan with crackers. Place butter and sugar in medium pan over low heat. Stir until the butter is melted. Bring to a boil for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Once it’s nice and bubbly, remove from heat and pour evenly over crackers. Spread mixture out with a knife (doesn’t have to be perfect). Move quickly so that the Toffee doesn’t harden. Place the pan in the oven and bake 6 to 8 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the Toffee while still hot. Let the chocolate chips melt and spread over toffee. Add nuts to the top. Put in the freezer for 30 minutes. Refrigerate.
