4 TB (½ stick) butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 lg. egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. all-purpose flour
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
½ c. walnuts, chopped
Powdered sugar for topping

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350º. Grease a 9”x 13” pan and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir for 1 to 2 minutes, until it has a thick, peanut butter-like consistency. Remove from the heat, and then stir in the beaten egg and vanilla, followed by the flour, salt and baking powder. Once combined stir in the nuts. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake until the edges begin to brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into 2”x 2” squares while warm and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container. Makes 20 brownies.
