Nutmeg Bars Recipe

Cookie Bars:

1.5 c butter
1.5 c sugar
2 eggs
3 Tbl rum extract
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbls nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
3 c flour
1 tsp salt


c butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbl rum extract
Dash Salt
4 5 c powdered sugar
1 2 Tbl milk
1 Tbl Cream


Cream butter and sugar. Mix in eggs. Add remaining ingredients. Spread on rimmed 10 x 15 cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees 15 - 20 minutes; do not over bake (middle just firm to the touch).

Cool. Frost. Sprinkle nutmeg on top. Cut into bars.


Cream butter, mix in 2 c powdered sugar. Add vanilla, rum extract, salt, 1 Tbl milk and cream.

Add remaining powdered sugar and milk alternately until desired spreading consistency.

Alternate frosting: Use purchased butter cream frosting and add rum extract.
