Drew's Christmas Cookies Recipe

1/4 lb Butter
1/2 c Sugar
1 1/2 c Flour
1 Egg
1/2 t Cream of tartar
Pinch of salt
1/4 t Cinnamon or nutmeg
1/2 t Vanilla
1/4 t Baking soda dissolved in 1/2 t hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix spices and cream of tartar with flour. Cream butter and sugar. Add flour mixture gradually. Then add egg and vanilla. The baking soda is added last. Remove from bowl and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill at least 1hr. Roll thin and cut out using cookie cutters. Decorate as you like. Bake in 350 degree oven until lightly brown.

These are Drew's favorite. The initial recipe was found in the newspaper back in the 1970's. This is half the original recipe.
