Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 375º. Butter a 9”x13” pan, and line with parchment paper.
2. Combine 1-1/8 C. (2-1/4 sticks) of butter with 3/4 C. brown sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment. Beat until light and fluffy. Add 1/2 tsp. salt, then the flour, one cup at a time. Mix until dough forms into large clumps.
3. Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan, prick the crust with a fork and chill for 20 minutes.
4. Bake 18-20 minutes. Cool completely before proceeding.
5. Reduce oven temperature to 325º.
6. Place remaining butter, remaining brown sugar, honey, sugar, heavy cream and remaining 1/2 tsp. salt in a medium saucepan over high heat. Stir constantly and bring to a boil. Cook until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon, just a couple of minutes.
7. Remove from heat and add pecans and vanilla.
8. Pour the pecan mixture over the cooled crust, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is bubbling.
9. Let cool completely before cutting into small squares, as it is very rich.
