2 CUPS FLOUR
5 TSP BAKING POWDER
SHAKE OF SALT
1/4 CUP SUGAR
2 TBSP BUTTER
1 CUP RAISINS (REGULAR OR GOLDEN)
3/4 TO 1 CUP MILK

SIFT DRY INGREDIENTS
CUT IN BUTTER
ADD RAISINS AND MILK
KNEAD GENTLY ON FLOURED SURFACE, THEN PLACE IN A GREASED WARM PAN
(I USE AN 8" IRON FRYING PAN)

BAKE AT 425 DEGREE OVEN FOR 20 MINUTES (UNTIL IT STARTS TURNING BROWN)
THEN LOWER OVEN TO 375 DEGREES, COVER WITH ALUMINUM FOIL AND BAKE ANOTHER 30 MINUTES
OR UNTIL DONE

FOR A LARGE LOAF, DOUBLE INGREDIENTS, BAKE IN A 10 1/2 INCH PAN. TOTAL BAKING TIME 1 HOUR OR MORE.
