6 apples, sliced
5 T sugar
2 T cinnamon

3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 T baking powder
1 t salt

1 cup canola oil
4 eggs
¼ cup orange juice
1 t vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the 5T sugar and 2T cinnamon. Pour over the sliced apples and mix together. Let sit. In a large bowl mix together the dry ingredients. Make a well and pour in the oil, eggs, orange juice and vanilla. Mix batter together and then mix in the nuts. In a tube pan or a bundt pan, pour in 1/3 of the batter then layer on 1/2 of the apples followed by batter, the remainder of the apples and then the remaining 1/3 of the batter. When layering the apples, make sure that they do not directly touch the sides of the pan. Bake at 375º for about 1¼ hour. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes and then flip onto a cooling rack.
