• 2 ¼ cups flour
• 2 sticks unsalted butter
• 1 ½ cups sugar
• 1 egg
• ½ package baking powder
• 1 ½ tbsp. lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
1. Sift flour with baking powder
2. Cut butter into flour with knives; mix with hands on pastry board. Make a well in the pile on the board and add egg, lemon juice and sugar. Mix everything together with hands, kneading like bread dough.
3. Divide in half and roll or to fit bottom of 13 x 9 pan.
4. Put cherry (or other fruit filling) on top of base.
5. Roll out remaining dough and cut into strips and make a lattice layer on top.
6. Bake 375º until golden brown. When cool, dust with confectioner’s sugar.
