see yellow cake recipe (this has the frosting as well)

Custard filling
2 cups plain soy milk
4 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp agar agar (online stores have it like amazon,this ingredient keeps it thick like traditional custard )
8 tbsp maple syrup.
pinch turmeric
1 tbsp vanilla extract.

Directions:
Make the cake.let layers cool.To make the custard whisk all ingredients in a sauce pan. Cook and continue to whisk until it begins to thicken. Remove from heat let cool and than store in frig several hours,Make the frosting .Assemble the cake by putting the custard in the middle and frosting the rest.Again, recipe for cake and frosting is under better than box yellow cake .
