10 lb tomatoes
2 1/2 c cider vinegar
3 lb white sugar
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. whole allspice
1 cinnamon stick

Directions:
Directions:
Scald, peel and mash tomatoes. Pour vinegar over tomatoes. Let stand overnight. In morning drain in colander. Reserve liquid. Make syrup of the white sugar, 1 1/2 c of the reserved liquid, salt and pepper. In cheese cloth bag put allspice and cinnamon stick. Add drained tomatoes. Cook slowly until thick. Remove bag. Fill jars. Seal.
