1 c. evaporated milk
1 Tbsp. vinegar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
3 c. raisins
1 c. nuts

ICING:
3/4 c. margarine
3 c. sifted powdered sugar
3 Tbsp evaporated milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix evaporated milk and vinegar together, set aside. Combine flour, spices, soda, and salt, set aside. Cream together shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs and mix. Alternatively add milk and flour/spice mixture. Add raising and nuts. Bake at 350 for 12-15 min.

To make icing:
Brown margarine. Add powdered sugar, evaporated milk, and vanilla. Stir through and put warm icing on cookies.
