For Cake:
1 C Oatmeal
1¼ C Boiling Water
2 tsp Vanilla
½ C Shortening
1 C Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 C White Sugar
1⅓ C Flour
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Soda

For Frosting
½ C White Sugar
6 Tbsp Butter
1 C Coconut
¼ C Milk
1 C Nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Combine oatmeal, boiling water, and vanilla. Let cool. Meanwhile cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and dry ingredients. Bake in a 13x9 pan at 350º for 30 - 35 minutes. When done, top with frosting (instructions below).

Frosting: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, spread over warm cake and put under broiler 350º for 5 minutes or until brown.
