3 eggs (Lois: I use 2)
1 cup sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
½ c. white Karo (corn syrup)
⅛ lb. butter (4 Tbsp.)
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. Prepare pie crust in a 9" pie plate. Beat eggs well and stir in sugar, Karo, pecans, vanilla, and cut up butter. Pour into pie crust. Cook in preheated oven for one hour.

Lois's note: When I say cut up butter, I usually guess at the butter and just take a knife and slice it off. I don't use quite 1/8 lb.

Lois's note: All ovens don't seem to be the same so if the pie is browning too slowly, raise the oven temperature to 350º. Something else I do, I heap the cup with chopped pecans and don't use quite 1/2 cup Karo. See I nearly made my own recipe after I got the recipe from my friend.

Elizabeth: Also, Mother sometimes melted the butter and stirred it into the sugar mixture. Either way this recipe is always better than any other pecan pie I have ever tasted!
