about 6 potato
ham, chunked
BASIC WHITE SAUCE
1⁄4 cup butter or 1⁄4 cup margarine
1⁄4 cup flour
1⁄2 onion, diced
2 cups milk
2 -3 cups cheese, grated

Directions:
Directions:
1. Peel potatoes and slice 1/4 " thick, I usually use about 6 for a 2 quart baking dish.
2. Chop the ham.
3. Make Basic White Sauce: Melt butter or margarine.Add flour and mix. Add milk and stir until mixture thickens. Add most of the chopped onions. Add cheese to white sauce and stir until melted.
4. Place one layer of potatoes in a 2 quart baking dish.
5. Top with ham.
6. Add another layer of potatoes, another layer of ham. Add remaining chopped onion to potatoes in middle layer. Finish with a layer of potatoes.
7. Pour the cheese sauce over all.
8. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for one hour.
9. Remove the cover and bake another 1/2 hour until cheese bubbles and top browns.
