1/2 white onion diced
1 medium carrot diced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
5 cups chicken stock
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup half and half
1 jar pasta sauce ( don't know what size, your discretion )
14.5 oz tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
16 oz cheese tortellini
parmesan cheese for garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Place onion, carrot, and olive oil in soup pot. cook over medium heat until onions are translucent.
Add fresh basil, stock, milk, half and half, pasta sauce, and diced tomatoes, stir until combined.
Add salt pepper and garlic powder to mixture, simmer for 20 minutes. Place tortellini into soup and cook another 15 minutes.
Serve with grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil on top.
