2 C boiling water
5 t soda
1 C shortening
2 C brown sugar
4 eggs, beaten
5 C flour
1 t salt
4 C All-Bran
2 C 40% Bran
2 C chopped dates or raisins
1 C chopped nuts
1 qt buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve soda in boiling water and let cool. Mix together dry ingredients. Melt shortening and mix in liquid ingredients. Combine everything and store in covered container in refrigerator. Bake in greased muffin tins at 375º for 20-25 mins. Will keep in refrigerator for several weeks. Bake as you need.
